I Am The Bread Of Life

John 6:35 (New Living Translation)
Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
What is it that you pursue? So many in this world pursue so many different things believing if they somehow get a hold of that which they pursue, they believe they will be satisfied and content. God has intentionally created us in a way that the only way we can truly be complete is to be in relationship with Him.
Jesus has made it possible for us to be in right relationship with God. Jesus is the bread of life. He has laid down His life so that you and I can have an opportunity to not only find forgiveness of our sins but to be brought back into right relationship with the Father.
It is sin that separates us from God. When we are born into this world we are born with a sin nature that dominates us from day one. Our sin nature causes us to be self-centered and we believe that which we selfishly desire will fulfill us if we get it. Oftentimes we will step on whoever it takes to get what we desire. The way Satan keeps us in bondage and further destroys our lives is through temptation.
But thankfully God has made a way. Jesus is the Bread of life. Those who come to faith in Christ will never hunger again nor thirst again. In Jesus we find all that we need and the more we grow in Him, the more we come to understand this. The more we come to know Him, the less we desire this world and the things the devil presents to us.
Today I would encourage you to take an inventory and think about what you are truly pursuing in life. Is what you are pursuing will glorify and strengthen your relationship with Jesus? Or is that what you are pursuing simply steeped in selfish desire. The only way to truly be complete and content on this earth is to be fully surrendered to Jesus.
Prayer
Father please remove from my life anything that would hinder my walk with you. Remove anything from my life that would destroy the purposes and plans you have for me. Help me each day to fall more and more in love with you. Increase my desire for your word. Increase my desire for your presence. Increase my desire for prayer. I pray that you would be the only thing I desire. I pray that you would prune me of anything that is unpleasing to you. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
