Habakkuk 2:14 NKJV
For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea.
We live in hard and difficult days and it seems that darkness is filling the earth at an ever increasing rate. As humanity rejects God more and more and gives themselves over to sin and temptation, the hearts of many become calloused and cold and the wickedness they are capable is astounding.
But as followers of Jesus we have hope. There is a day coming in which our Lord and Savior shall return. He shall place His feet on the Mount of Olives and He shall establish His kingdom on the earth. He shall rule from Jerusalem and this verse will become a reality. For when the Lord establishes His kingdom, He will bind Satan in the abyss for a thousand years.
The key to navigating this journey with Christ at this time in history is intimacy with Him. The more intimate we walk with Him, the more our hearts and minds will become fixed and focused on Him and His kingdom and not this world.
Because of technology we are bombarded with lies and deceptions. We are bombarded with what Satan is doing throughout the earth. But God makes it very clear that we are called to fix our eyes upon the author and finisher of our faith. We are victorious today because of what Jesus has done. We are saved by God's grace and we are kept by God's grace.
No matter what the enemy has planned and purposed, God will use it for our good and for His glory. There is nothing that Satan does that God doesn't allow. There is nothing that happens in our world that God is not fully in control of. We may not understand all that God is doing and many times His plans and purposes make no sense to us.
But He has called us to trust Him and lean not on our own understanding. We must set aside our rational, logical mind and understand that God is God and we are not. Why He allows certain leaders to arise to power we will not understand on this side of eternity. But it is far better to know the Him personally who is control of the future and of all life itself. For He holds all things together by His mighty power.
Father I thank you that you are in control. I thank you that you are working greatly in the earth. I thank you that Jesus you are returning soon and this world is not our home. Help us each day to live for you, to grow in you, to be fully surrendered to you, and to live lives that are holy and pleasing unto you. Father remove from us anything that would hinder your plans and may every word we speak and all that we do simply bring honor and glory unto you. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
