When Brothers Dwell In Unity
Psalm 133:1 ESV
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!
Today we have a unity problem. We are racially divided and hate continues to grow across the earth. Recently in South Africa many have been made aware of white farmers who have been murdered because of hatred and wickedness.
Many today want to call racism a white man problem. But it is a humanity problem. The foundation of racism and hatred is sin. The human heart is inherently wicked and the only one who can forgive sin, remove it, and change the human heart is Almighty God.
Jesus made it very simply when He said love your neighbor as yourself. But even then He was asked who is my neighbor because the Jews at that time saw the gentiles as unclean. But in Christ every life is made whole and in Christ regardless of skin color, a person is received into God's family and kingdom.
Jesus said a new command I give you that you love one another. Imagine how different the world and life would be if we simply followed the truth of God's word. Today in America our greatest problems are a result of moving farther and farther away from God and embracing things that are simply destroying us. May we love one another.
Prayer
Father help us in our weakness. Remove all hatred from our hearts. Forgive us for anything we have done to wrong another. Help us to see others as you see them and to love as you love. Help us to be the people you have called us to be and to walk in unity. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
