Then You Will Call On Me: Jeremiah 29:12

Then You Will Call On Me

Jeremiah 29:12 Amplified Bible

12 Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you.

God’s desire is that we would cry out to Him. Sometimes we may wonder if God really takes time to listen to us. The answer is yes. He is omnipresent which means He is all places at all times. He exists outside of time. So as people are praying throughout the earth, He is with every one of them all at the same time. This may seem incredible or even impossible to us, but we must remember that through Jesus Christ we have a personally time with God each time we draw near to Him in prayer.

God’s promise to the Israelites in this verse is that when they pray to Him, that He will hear their voice and listen to them. He will not only listen, but He will answer according to His will. God will never act outside or contrary to His will. The more we spend time in His word, the more our prayers align with the word of God. We come to recognize and understand His character and His nature. As this takes place the very desires within our hearts change and they supernaturally align with His will.

Prayer is a greater invitation for intimacy. The Lord is not only bidding us to seek and cry out to Him, but God is also giving us the promise that He will hear. Sometimes we may feel like our prayers go no farther than the ceiling. But our faith and relationship with God is not based upon feelings. It is based upon the truth of His word. Through Jesus Christ we are commanded by God to come boldly to the throne of grace because the wall of separation because of sin has been removed. May we draw near today. May we bring the needs and burdens we have in our lives. May we lay them at the feet of our Father in Heaven. May we place the battle in His hands.

Prayer

Father thank you for hearing me when I call. Thank you for taking the time to listen. Thank you for the promises of your word. Help me each day to grow more intimate in my prayer life. Help me to go deeper in the place of prayer. Guide me to pray according to your will and purpose. May my heart and mind fully be surrendered to you.
