1 Corinthians 3:16 NASB2020 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
When we come to Christ we become temples of the Holy Spirit. When we truly understand what this means it changes the way we live. As temples of the Holy Spirit, He lives inside of us. Every where we go, He goes with us. He empowers us for service for the kingdom. He equips us to be a witness. He transforms us from the inside out.
The more we spend time fellowshipping with The Holy Spirit, the more we are changed and transformed. He speaks to us in our hearts and minds. As we spend time reading the scriptures and meditating upon God's word, The Holy Spirit brings greater and deeper revelation. He not only helps us to understand what the word of God says, but He also helps us understand how to apply the truth of God's word to our lives.
The temple in the Old Testament contained the Holy of Holies. It was in the Holy of Holies that the presence of the Living God was found. Only one person could enter into the Holy of Holies and that was once a year on the day of atonement. But today because of the precious blood of Jesus we can draw near to the throne of grace with confidence. The very presence of God fills our lives. The more we surrender to the work and will of Almighty God, the more our lives will be filled with His peace and presence.
Prayer. Father lead and guide me this day. May I be a person of your presence. Remove from my life anything that would hinder your work and will in my life. Prune things from my life that stand in the way of what you desire to do. May my life reflect you more and more and may my life be used to glorify and honor your name.
