1 Chronicles 16:11 NIV

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

It is in Jesus Christ that we find strength. In our weakness, His strength is made perfect. His grace is sufficient for all things. There is a poem known as "Footprints in the Sand." In that poem, the narrator sees that there was indeed only one set of footprints because it was the Lord who carried them.

There are things we face that are greater than us. They are overwhelming, and if we rely on our own strength and wisdom, we will fail. But the source of our strength is Jesus Christ. The Psalmist shows us something important: this strength is accessed when we seek the face of God. When we abide in Christ, His strength is present at all times in our lives. Our continual daily fellowship with the Lord is key to living a life marked by His strength and victory.

Today, if you feel like giving up or throwing in the towel, don't. Bring every burden before the Lord because that is what He is calling you to do. He is not asking you to hold your life together. He is not asking you to fix the problems and issues in your life. He is calling you and me to simply seek His face. In seeking His face, we find strength for the journey.

Prayer

Father, thank you for your goodness and love. Thank you that your grace is sufficient, and your strength is made perfect in our weakness. Jesus, thank you for saving me. Thank you for washing away all my sins. Help me to grow each day in my relationship with you. Help me to trust you in the moments when I feel like throwing in the towel. Help me to know that you are near. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
