Because I found some of your children walking in the truth: 2 John 4

2 John 4

4 ⌊I was very glad⌋ because I found some of your children walking in the truth, just as ⌊the Father commanded us⌋.

            Are we walking in the truth? Everything in our lives must be built upon the word of God. Some people today may call themselves Christians but fail to base their lives on God and His word. His word is truth. Jesus says that you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. The key to walking in true freedom is building our lives on the word of God and living according to His word and by the leading of The Holy Spirit.

            Great joy is found in any spiritual leader or father when their spiritual children walk in the truth. Here, John states that he was very glad because he found some of those he was writing to were walking in the truth. Satan is the father of lies, and to reject God’s word is to live by the lies and deceptions of the devil. When we live according to the lies and deceptions of the devil, we become imprisoned. But in Jesus Christ, we find freedom when we know the truth and live by it. 

           God has commanded us to walk in truth. Jesus said that those who love Him are the ones who obey His commands. From Genesis to Revelation, God has given us His word. It is a blueprint for how we should live our lives and build them upon the principles of His kingdom. You reap what you sow, and when we sow to God’s word, we reap the influence and blessings of His kingdom in our lives. God has provided everything we need to live for Him and to see our lives greatly and supernaturally transformed by the power and work of the Holy Spirit. However, living according to God’s word is essential for all things. 

Prayer

Father, thank you for your word. Thank you that your word is truth. I praise and thank you for your goodness and love. Thank you that you love me and have given me your word to build my life upon. Father, remove from my life anything that would hinder your work and purpose. Help me to see and understand the things you want me to see and know. Remove every lie and deception from my heart and mind. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
